TeaDerma Toner Pads

Often times clients will ask me if they should be using a toner. Not every skin care line provides a toner - some will tell you it’s not necessary and others will make several different toners. Personally, I enjoy using a them. I just love how fresh they make my skin feel! 

There are many benefits to using a toner. A toner is a product used after washing the face, that aids in restoring the skin's ph balance, increasing blood flow, controlling oil, sloughing off dead skin cells, controlling bacteria, removing toxins, and even adding nutrients.

One of the best toners I’ve ever used is called TeaDerma Anti-oxidant Green Tea Toner Pads. 

I love this product for many reasons. There is growing evidence of the benefits Green Tea can provide when applied topically. The Green Tea leaf contains a mixture of powerful anti-oxidants called polyphenols. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is believed to be the most biologically active Green Tea polyphenol for both oral and topical administration. The makers of TeaDerma have developed a new patented method to extract pure EGCG from Green Tea leaves. Stability is assured by supplying EGCG as a dry powder to be mixed with a liquid vehicle. These active ingredients are not mixed until you purchase the product.

This is a product that is a must have year round. I like to keep mine refrigerated, which helps to extend the efficacy and is very refreshing to the skin. During the summer the TeaDerma pads can be used to refresh the skin between SPF applications. It can also be used as a facial cleanser when water is not available. Just put it in a plastic bag and pop it in your cooler. Imagine how great that would feel after an afternoon of water skiing! In the winter this toner is equally as important to protecting your skin from the elements. The anti-oxidant activity of EGCG is 100 times that of vitamin C and 25 times that of vitamin E at protecting cells and DNA from damage. How can that not be a benefit to your skin?!?
